Project Description
Steelcore Electric, Inc. was contracted as a Prime contractor by the San Diego Unified School District to demolish and replace the main switch gear line up that supplies the entire campus with all of its electrical needs.
Scope Of Work
This project consisted of electrical safe off existing 12kV Medium Voltage circuit from the SDG&E Substation to demolish existing switchgear line up and replace with new. The line up was a custom build that consisted of 12kV to 208/120v transformer, transition section and distribution sections to reconnect existing electrical panel feeds and site power for the campus. The existing equipment pad was modified and extended to accommodate for the larger switchgear footprint prior to installing the new switchgear and multiple industrial generators were installed for the entirety of the project to keep campus critical systems online.
