Steelcore Electric, Inc. was subcontracted to install a new main electrical service fed from an existing substation, interior and exterior lighting in addition to power outlets and a new fire alarm and telecommunication system for this new ground up CMU building located at Naval Base Point Loma, CA.
Scope Of Work
The work on this project will consist of providing an underground concrete encased ductbank to provide main electrical service from an existing substation to new Fuels Lab building. Communication concrete encased ductbanks from an existing telecommunication manhole will be installed for the building telecommunication systems. Scope also includes the installation of electrical metering equipment, main panel, subpanels and transformers which will provide power for the new lighting fixtures, power outlets and equipment used in the lab. A new ground grid, static plates, exposed interior ground bus, metal surface raceways for power and data outlets and lightning protection system will be installed for protection of transient voltages. Additionally, a new mass notification fire alarm and telecommunication system will be installed which will be distributed throughout the building with conduit and cable tray systems.
