Steelcore Electric, Inc. was subcontracted to install two eighteen foot fans and fire alarm conduit for Homeland Security in an existing hanger located at Naval Air Station North Island, Coronado, CA.
Scope Of Work
Work consisted of performing installing two 18’ Powerfoil fans with structural supports to help mitigate the heat for maintenance crews during the summer. Electrical conduit and wiring was installed to provide power for two 18’ fans using an existing power source that are controlled by digital automatic controls to control the fans and can also be controlled manually. Fire alarm conduit was also installed to tie the fans into the buildings fire alarm system in the event of a fire power will be automatically turned off for safety of personnel. These systems were installed in a high bay ceiling that required the use of high reach lifts and working at heights.
